THANKSGIVING
Last week, Farrah - an exchange student from America - told us something about Thanksgiving in the United States. It was very interesting to hear about how the Americans celebrate their special day.
In the USA Thanksgiving is a holiday and the biggest family festival in the year as well. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. The highlight of this day is a big dinner with the whole family. A typical Thanksgiving-meal is made out of a pumpkin soup, a big turkey and cranberry-creme.
The day after Thanksgiving is called black friday. The stores open very early in the morning an grant big discounts.

In my opinion Thanksgiving is a very beautiful tradition, because the whole family spends time with each other. :)

Halloween
+ Halloween is a shortened form of "All Hallows' Eve".
+ Halloween means holy.
+ Eve is the day before a holy day.
+ Halloween was an ancient British Celtic festival.
+ At Halloween the souls of the dead returned.
+ People lit bonfires to frighten evil spirits.
+ Now bonfires are only burnt on November 5th - "Bonfire night".
Masks, costumes, ghosts, witches on boomsticks with black cats, skeletons, bats and spiders and Halloween lanterns have all become part of Halloween. Children play trick-or-treat and they ask for a treat hoping to get sweets.

Farrah - The exchange student
Last lesson Farrah, an exchange student from America, visited us and told us something about her, her hobbies and the States.
She is 22 years old, has no brothers and sisters and her hobbies are watching movies, listening to music and reading books. Her favourite movie is Fight Club.
Farrah has some pets like a dog, a cat, a turtle, and a parrot who can speak a few words. Her favourite music is pop, rock, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan.
Her boyfriend is a football fan and she often watches with him.
She has studied German for 3 years. In Austria she has already visited Perg, Linz, Saalbach, and Vienna for one day.
Farrah told us as well that not every person in America is fat and that the American students fake their identity to get alcohol as well.

Austrian Airlines - The Most Friendly Airline
This ad promotes the new destinations from the summer schedule of “Austrian Airlines “. The advertiser of this ad is “Austrian Airlines”, an Austrian Airline company with the slogan: The Most Friendly Airline. The ad is taken from the newspaper “Kronenzeitung”. It is in black and white and comprises a full page. The main part of the page is a photograph in the middle of the page, showing a flower which leaves flying away saying :”You´ll just love our flight to the East via Vienna.” On the top you can see clouds and a plane, building a smile.
With this special offer you can fly to 3 new like Anapa, Kharkiv and Tbilisi. In my opinion it is not a special feature because there are other big airlines which can offer the same as well.
The proposal is for everyone who can afford it. To my mind it is an informative ad for people who want to fly to the East of Europe.
The advertiser wants to give his customers as many as opportunities so that they are happy to fly with Austrian airlines. In my opinion the ad arouses the interest for the offer but I can´t imagine flying to Anapa, Kharkic and Tbilisi because I am not interested in those areas.
Summarizing I can say that the ad is well done but it doesn´t belong to me because I like to waste my time with my friends instead of flying to new destinations of Austrian Airlines.

Our favourite spot is the Möbelix spot.
In the spot there is a hero who fights against the high prices and knocks them out with different weapons for example a harvester. We like the spot because it is a comedy, and the speaker talks in funny ryhmes.

I think I deserve a D because, I had a D in the winter term, a D in the summer term and my class work is not bad at all i think. I try to follow the lesson the whole time and sometimes i raise my hand to read a text.

Italy (Bibione)
The last week our class spent one week in Italy (Bibione). The weather was very nice and we had a lot of fun together.
On Monday morning at eight o´clock we started our tour. Everybody was very excited and was looking forward to the following few days. Our first stop was in Udine. We visited some special sights and got free time to made photos of them. After that we continued driving with the bus to Bibione. At five o´clock we arrived at our mobiles homes. They were very small but ok. In the evening at half past seven we had dinner and after we walked in the city.
On Tuesday we visited Venedig. It is a very splendid city with lots of wonderful sights. We stayed there a whole day and had to do a worksheet. In the afternoon when we came back, the boys ran to the sea and swam a little bit. At eight o´clock we had dinner. After that all boys met at one mobile home at we sat there for some hours.
On Wednesday we had our sports-day. At midday we had a lection in achery. It was very funny and some of us shot very well. In the afternoon we had bicycle – tour with pick-nick. After we came home we played beach-soccer, beach-volley ball and gotcha.
On Thursday in the morning we visited a fishing village. We ate there some noodle. They were very good. After we drove home to your mobiles homes we played again beach-soccer and swam in the sea. As well we went into the pool.
On Friday in the morning we went back to Austria. We didn´t stop at any cities. When we came back it was raining and the weather was very bad. All in all we had a great time in Italy and we thank our teacher to organize this like it was.
All in all we had a great time in Italy and i think i will never forget the fun we had there.

Tourisme
I think the group KMME did a nice presentation. The structure was clear and I think the audience could follow the presentation the whole time. I missed some pictures in the presentation but at the end they show us a nice podcast with lots of picture. This was a very nive idea.
Environmental pollution, health and how we can save the life on earth.
We´ve just heard a presentation about Environmental pollution, health and how to save life on Earth. In my opinion it´s very important for us to know how we can stop this and held our nature clear.
Furthermore the presentation consists the topic climate change. Today it´s a very big problem because there is too much gas in the air and it keeps the world much wormer as usual.
It was given us a little overview about two organisation like WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and Greenpeace. The websites tell us how to reduce evironmental pollution and recycle our rubbish. Since I´ve read some articles on this websites I thaught about this and plucked a decision.
The next time i will:
- ride my bike more than riding by motobike.
- throw my rubbish into the right dustbin.
- turn off the light if I leave a room.
- will recycle the rubbish in my dustbin.
- not throw anything into the nature.
